Brigid Justice accepts referrals from domestic violence and women’s services, Legal Aid, CLCs, and private law firms. The best way to refer a client is through the client booking a free chat on our website – although we do also accept email referrals from services.

We are a social enterprise/charity and provide services to women DV victim/survivors in the justice gap. We primarily provide family law services but also sue perpetrators and pro-bono advocate for our clients with the Police.

We are a fee for service organisation, and we receive no government and minimal philanthropic funding. Clients can expect to pay around half what they would pay a private lawyer.

To be eligible to use our services a client must be:

  • A woman who has suffered abuse
  • Unable to access Legal Aid
  • Able to pay legal fees or obtain litigation funding
  • Generally able to pay $5,000 to 10,000 up front (if unable to get litigation funding)

Who are Brigid Justice clients?

  • Ordinary working women: nurses, teachers, admin workers, child care workers etc;
  • Women who are not working outside the home or are on a very low income, but whose joint assets prevent them obtaining Legal Aid;
  • Women who have no other legal options: e.g. women on visas.
